American Teens, Addicted to Text-messaging

Wow, third of U.S. teens with phones text 100 times a day. That is a lot!

Texting such much shows that those students have too much time on their hands. Maybe their parents should step up and give them some more house work to do and their teachers more projects.

The major problem with this much text-messaging is that a lot of it is happening while those teens drive. That is very dangerous as they put their life and others life in danger.

In order to prevent any danger and protect citizens, all American States should forbidden text-messaging while driving.

Brainstorm on Earth Day

A day off for school kids because of Earth Day, and ome of those kids went to work, of course with their parents. As I can praise this initiative, I can also criticize it.

Most workplaces are too dangerous for children to play in, and most jobs require a great deal of effort and attention. Consequently, forget about entertaining kids.

The best place for those kids to celebrate Earth Day is school. They can brainstorm about what to do to save the Earth. This initiative can also help teachers to show students all things about teaching. This solution is safer and with no cost. That is a way to celebrate Earth Day, too.

Plant Trees

Americans always find new ways to celebrate an event, ways that are different from what other people do. In my understanding, celebrating Earth Day means taking care of it, planting trees, and thinking how to preserve it, etc. But, I notice that Americans prefer having for free coupons and more manufactured crap that produce more waste.

Americans need to rethink the way they celebrate Earth Day. Hand out free saplings out for people to plant more trees seems to be a nice alternative than taking economic advantage of Earth Day.

As Human Being, the Earth Changes Too

Is the earth becoming more hot than before? This is the eternal debate about the climate change. As human being, the earth changes too, no question of that. It always has and it always will, with or without humans here. About glaciers, it is the same, some are shrinking and many are growing. Why do we expect things to remain the same?

Human has no right to change how this world (earth) should be or affect the changes faster than it should be. We can find all kinds of excuses saying the climate changes aren't our fault, but we know it's not true, it's not going to hurt us to just save some water for our future generation. It's not going to hurt us to just turn off the lights when we are not using or take a shorter shower.

We all share responsibility to teach future generations about the importance of conservation and caring for our earth.

why do Americans like to make a big deal about what is not one? I’m still waiting for the response about Tiger Wood. Anyway...

During his last tournament, Tiger's outbursts did not offend me. And I am sure that people, the great majority of parents do the same in front of their children. But, what is the problem here. Is it because it is Tiger?
Because, he is cheated on his wife and promised to change?

Yes, he should watch how he acts and what he says because he is a role model. But, one thing is certain that golf is a demanding. So let, Wood be a TIGER and cry his frustration when he looses a game.

Why do People yeld at the Obamas?

What is wrong with Americans? I really have hard time understanding what is going on their mind. Everything the Obamas do is wrong for them. Before, it was the Healthcare issue, now Haiti. Before it was Barack, now it is Michelle.

It is true that no matter what Michelle Obama does or says, she can never satisfy everyone. But, I think going on goodwill trips is part of her job as first lady. Her trips to Haiti and then Mexico have for the same objective. Indeed, as all previous First Ladies played important roles in presenting the face of the US to the people, Michelle is doing the same. Americans, please put aside your pettiness for a while and support the Obamas.

Seat Belts and Lawsuits

Americans love lawsuits. And if seat belts are required on school buses that will mean lawsuits against drivers.

Is a driver able to keep his eyes on the road and also insure kids keep their seat belts? That is almost impossible. But because he will not be able to do that, that means a lawsuit against him as some parents will argue that it is his responsibility to insure their kids have buckled their seat belt.

What about if a child does use his or her belt to hit another student? Of course, here again, it is a lawsuit against the driver. Another case, let us assume that a bus has to be evacuated and it does not happen quickly because of the time it takes to get everyone unbuckled? Who will be held for responsible ? The driver. And again, another lawsuit against him.

Poor bus drivers! If seat belts are needed on school buses, schools need to hire more people. People that will insure that children have buckled their belt. But are they ready for lawsuits if accidents happen? Maybe the employment will push them to take some risks.

May God comfort the distressed people of Poland. The drama in Poland seems a little sketchy. How can a senior level pilot who must have been experienced to be able to fly the president and dignitaries ignored a tower control?

No doubt something is wrong. For now, the question is who is behind this drama? Maybe Russia? This country can get away with anything it wants.

Russians murdered 10,000 Polish officers at Katyn during WWII and blamed the Germans for it. Fortunately, even the Polish people and the Russians knew the truth; Polish had to wait 50 years for the truth to come out and the Russians to apologize for the killings.

Make Local Adoption Easy

Freezing all adoptions by U.S. families would be great! But what for? What the Russian child’s American adoptive parents did was reprehensible.

Adopted or biological they should not return this child as a package. Because of that, they deserve to be prosecuted for neglect of that child as since they adopted that child, he is legally theirs. It is against the law to abandon a child or your own child.

Another fact is why do people go to another country to adopt children when the United States has so many kids that need a home? To avoid any diplomatic clashes, it is better for the US to make easy local adoptions.

Who do you think you are?

Nobody! Since many years, scientists try to find our ancestors and since then we got many ancestors such as apes, Lucy, Toumaï. At the present, the recent one is this we did not have the privilege to see a pic. So we do not know how she looks like.

If be a scientist means to question everything, I prefer they found the truth or their truth before telling us the right response about our ancestor.

The problem is, will they be able to answer to all questions concerning our ancestors as the world is full of mysteries? Atom particles appears and disappear from and into nothing! Respect Others’ Religion

People may think that Akon did not mean to be disrespectful through his video showing some girls barely dressed dancing front of the Buddha statute. And they will think that Buddhists overreacted about that, too.

Among those people, many regret what they did in the past. The project by the new Haven housing authority should be multiply insofar there are some ex-offenders somewhere in the US waiting for help.

As one in every 100 adults in America are in jail or prison and that number keeps growing and the costs to take care of them expands too., it would be better that the state probates offenders insted of jailing them.

Then, the state could save money and avoid that those people become outcasts because at this stage, there is no hope and the state would have to spend more to take care of them.

The truth is, as Marshall McLuhan says, "The message is the medium." In another words, the Internet provides us information they tweet, tchat, text, facebook… and it becomes obvious that a student I met while videotaping at the main library told me that he was aware that many students barely look at a book at the library unless told to do so.

Those students do use the Internet for nearly every assignment because of the interactivity and hypertextuality. The consequence is those students barely know the color of chairs at the library and the joy of touching books.

Some ways, google does not make us stupid, its allow people to stay connected in a dynamic way, a way that abolishes time and space and that allow access to any kind of documents online by gathering all of them online.

From now, the USA is not anymore the country where people die because of pre-existing conditions.

Will Bin Laden be useful dead as the Attorney General suggested? Unless Americans need to hide something concerning AlQuaida or 9/11. Getting Bin Laden alive will help to get true info about his network and the 9/11.
As many writings say, Bin Laden was in the US when 9/11 happened and he was able to leave the country without being caught by the CIA or the FBI. And now the Attorney General said they want him dead. How can they do that as 10 years ago he was on American soil when the planes struck? Can they catch him in underground caves when they did not catch him when he was visible? How useful is all the technology to locate him since 9/11? Apparently, those technologies are not useful as Bin Laden taunts America when any act of terrorism happens from his cave. It better for the Attorney General to first catch the fish with the right hook before telling the future.

See With the Tongue

Very soon, blind people will be able to see with their tongue. This device by the British army is the greatest one after scientists discovered that blind people could go around guided by dogs and canes.

With this discovery, blinds could live as normal people without any helpers. But, doing basic activities such as riding, jogging, admiring nature, would be a nice change for them. But no technology has thus far made that possible.

Britain’s device is still a prototype and it would be incredible if in the future it or any discovery could help blind people to be perform activities as independently as other humans who see with their eyes.

Obviously, eyes and vision loss are the sole domain where humans cannot defeat nature. The best we could hope for would be for technologies or sciences that help blind people get back their vision as they do for people who recover their skin after being burned or have their hair after being bald. And then, scientists might be considered as gods on the earth.

Leave Haitians with their Misery

Since the earthquake in Haiti, we see Americans full of compassion for the people of Haiti. That compassion brought everyone who saw the sorrow in Haiti to want to be useful, like Jesse Sul.
Sleeping in the cold outside will not change anything. On the contrary, Jesse could get sick and lose the opportunity he could have to help Haiti by going to the country. The help from him or from others are just insignificants. Only Haitians could change things in Haiti. To make that happen, they should change their mindset, stand up, and work, work very hard to pursue their happiness.
From the ruins must rise a new government that is able to build the country since for many decades it has been helped by NGOs and humanitarian aid. With the earthquake came the moment of truth. Now more than ever, Haitians need a strong government of honest and engaged leaders fighting for their people and their welfare. No one could make that happen even if he sleeps in the street. Even he is a good Samaritan. People from Haiti, elderly and young must build their country thanks to leaders who stimulate their capabilities. Then every Haitian could aspire to eating three meals a day a day and having a roof over their heads.

Commitment is a Teachable Moment

If home schooling is not allowed in Germany, the best way to make things change is to advocate not fleeing the country and come to the United States as did Mr. Romeike. Americans did fight to get homeschooling; they did fight for what they thought could make them happy or build their happiness. Therefore, it is too easy for Mr. Romeike to come and enjoy the happiness born of harsh fights.
What example is the well-educated Mr. Romeike giving to his children, he who wants to teach them at home as he considered his country’s educational system as not functioning properly? Yes, he came to a country where he is free to teach whatever he needs to his kids, and his children would certainly act like him in the future if they meet some kind of difficulties as their father did not show them how to advocate, how to be engaged in order to achieve a goal.
As long as Mr. Romeike cares about what his children are learning, he should advocate for changes.  He should advocate changing Germany’s mindset about homeschooling. It is not too late. Mr. Romeike could still go back to Germany and make things change. That will stay crafted in his children’s mindset. No other act will be worth that.

A study published by Reuters on Monday 08th shows that 54% of people from India, 52% of Turkish, and 48% of Japanese think women should stay in the home. As Monday 8th is a day to celebrate advocacy for women’s rights this is a strange present. However, it is a call to think again on women’s conditions in the world. Why should women stay home and men work outside? The response is a matter of money. If stay-at-home wives and mothers could earn money for raising children, housekeeping and caring for her husband men would refuse them this opportunity. No husband would agree to paying his wife for managing their house. Let’s reverse the situation. Would these husbands accept staying home without a salary and their wives working in an office? They would probably refuse because any work where there is a chance to get money, men are there and refuse to let women in. They want all the money for themselves only. Likely, not all men prefer to confine women at home. 34% of Chinese, 25% of Australians, 22% of Americans and British, and 9% of French and Argentineans think women should stay home. This is a great improvement, although the numbers are still high. But, I’m not worried at all. It is only a thought not a will to be applied.

An email rewarded by five Oscars

Every product needs promotion, so Nicolas Chartier promoted his movie by sending an email to the Oscar committee. That is not a big deal. As a good advertiser, he tried to attract people as do dealers and cell phones networks. And always each of them thinks his or her product is the best.
As the Oscars are trophies, it seems normal that Chartier tried his best to get most of them. Indeed, his film won best picture and five other prizes Sunday at the Academy Awards. That is a big deal.
Indeed, having them would impact his film revenue from theaters and make him one of the most achieved producers. That is the dream of every filmmaker and that is the reason they compete for Oscars. Otherwise, the Oscars would not exist. Chartier would not send an email either.
Could an email have impacted the academy members’ votes? Maybe, but the audience always appreciates the judges’ choices by going to theaters. With a big deal of takings or not, producers got the message. Their movie is a master-piece or a fiasco. In this last case, the big loser is the committee as it would not be credible anymore. Therefore, it should award a producer based on the quality of the product, not on friendship as the key point is how to highlight forever the Oscars but not be hurt by an email from a producer.

Lights Burning Hayes

Why does Mr. Hayes complain about "inhumane" conditions, lights disturbing him and he can not sleep properly? The truth is that the lights set fire in Mr. Hayes' mind and keep him remembering days and nights what he did to this family.
Mr. Hayes' brain is on fire and him having in mind the scenes of rape and cries makes him misused his anti psychotic medication. He needs to escape from this psychological prison but he can't. In the dark, Mr. Hayes could sleep quietly, try to forget what happened. He can get this privilege because of the lights.
The lights at his prison is a fire that burns him. The lights at his prison is the crucifix on which he is paying his tribute to this family. No justice is power than that.
