Respect Others’ Religion

People may think that Akon did not mean to be disrespectful through his video showing some girls barely dressed dancing front of the Buddha statute. And they will think that Buddhists overreacted about that, too.

The key point here is that if people need others to appreciate them, to respect them, they must in return do the same thing and respect others’ believes. It must be an interactivity, not a one way communication.

As no one wants to see his or her religion disrespected, Akon should apologize, edit his video and move forward. Better, he should donate something towards the community; that is a way to respect people and be accepted in their community.
